Summary
The Penalty (color tinted): an incompetent doctor amputates the legs of a young boy who grows up to be the embittered Blizzard, a criminal mastermind who orchestrates a bizarre and heinous plot to avenge himself. Dr Jekyll & Mr. Hyde (color tinted): an idealistic London doctor has a weakness for experiments which take him to the boundaries of human consciousness and experience. The Man Who Laughs (black & white): a nobleman's son is doomed to life wearing a perpetual grin, carved on his face because his father offended the king. The Cat and the Canary (color tinted): the heirs to a large fortune gather at their benefactor's mansion 20 years after his death, but the reading of his will is interrupted by a series of disturbing events. Kingdom of Shadows (color and black & white): a documentary exploring the evolution of the horror film, surveying more than fifty films, including many early silent films.
